Sad Story of Quagga

The Quagga (Equus quagga quagga) is an extinct subspecies of plains zebra, which was found in great number in South Africa's Cape Province and southern of Orange Free State. It was distinguished from others zebra by having the usual vivid stripes on the front part of the body only.In the middle the stripes faded and the dark, inter-stripe spaces become wider, and the hindquarters became brown. Humans poached quaggas for their skin which have high price in the market. They are now extinct, never to be seen again in the wild.
